RETIREMENT LIVERY

Our client's retired horses are turned out on lush permanent pasture bordered by mature hedgerows and woodland, providing natural shelter and relief from flies. All fields benefit from water troughs fed by fresh spring water. We also carryout a thorough fieldwork programme to maintain high quality grazing pasture.

Turn out is year round, in a select herd environment and horses are rugged during the winter months. We bring the horses in for any veterinary treatment and according to the weather, making use of our covered turnout and stabling.

Hay and prescription supplements are provided as necessary.

We take care of routine worming and foot trimming. Annual jabs and dental check ups are carried out by our accredited vets.

We welcome visitors and provide regular updates including posts on Facebook and Instagram.

Our services are bespoke and prices are subject to personal requirements.

I was nervous about putting my 3 retired mares on retirement livery as they can be quite complicated and need to have experience handling. What attracted me to South West Equine Livery was the personalised touch and hands on approach.

The girls are so happy there and extremely well cared for, I feel they go the extra mile for my mares. Poey gives me regular updates and pictures which is always appreciated and are always very welcoming when I get to go and visit.

Experienced "horsey" people with lifelong connections to competition horses, ponies, hunters and older horses. A great setting with mature pastures and roomy buildings.

I would just like to say how wonderful South West Equine Livery is - the care they have given my boy Sam has been outstanding. Let me tell you a little story of my boy and how he came here.

Sam had a recurring tendon injury, has lost his field companioning & I was house moving so decided to send him to a retirement home. I wash shaken from my first experience of a retirement home when Sam has lost soo much with over eight months – heartbroken does no go farm enough.

Thankfully every cloud has a silver lining and I found South West Equine Livery. With great care and love Poey and her team have turned this horse around – he is once again a happy and content boy now living the retired life he so disserves. I cannot thank Poey enough for what she has done and continues to do for Sam and the reassurance that I know have.
